Loren Howell

Obituary of Loren Ralph Howell

Loren Ralph Howell of Red Deer AB passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on August 25, 2024, at the age of 54 years.

Loren was born in 1969, in Red Deer, AB and lived his entire life in Alberta in the family’s home.  He worked as a Class 1 truck driver for United Rentals who always treated Loren like a part of the family for many years.  Loren had a big heart for his family and friends and was always there to help.  He loved to help his parents in the garden and enjoyed sharing the abundance of vegetables the family would grow.  After Wayne and Bonnie passed Loren continued that tradition and made sure he had enough vegetables to share with his family and friends and carry him through the winter!

Loren continued the tradition of preserving and pickling every year, again always sharing the results of that hard work.  He enjoyed going to the mountains to take his Ski-Doo out and sharing the amazing stories of those good times with his close friends.  He was an animal lover, and the dogs of his brothers always appreciated the truck rides and abundance of affection he showed them over the years.  Loren always made an effort to spend time with friends and extended family when the opportunity struck.  As an avid sports fan, he loved the Edmonton Oilers and was looking forward to them lifting another Stanley Cup!  Loren will be missed tremendously by family and friends, particularly his brothers, sister-in-law and his only niece.

Loren is survived by his brothers Shaun Howell of Sherwood Park and Kevin (Autumn) of Calgary; niece Jayne Howell as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

A service to celebrate Loren’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta or the Central Alberta Cancer Centre.  Condolences to Lorn’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Howell” in the subject line.
