Obituary of David Hanson Lindsay
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Hanson Lindsay on October 27, 2023, at the age of 76 after a long struggle with COPD.
David was born in Red Deer in 1947, and Red Deer was home for all of his life. He spent much of his childhood playing sports in the open fields in and around Mountview. David loved hockey and was a star player in his younger years. Many years later, he played hockey with the Red Deer Oldtimers team.
David was also a classic car enthusiast, and he would spend many hours repairing or adding modifications to his car before either selling or trading it for the next project. A local businessman, he started early in life working at the House of Mufflers and then eventually owning and operating his own business Midas Mufflers/Dave’s Auto Service until his retirement.
David was an avid golfer and could be found on the golf course all summer long until his health
began to fail him. He also had a special love for dogs, he has always had a dog in his life.
David will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his family and friends and is survived by his loving wife, Fran, step-son, Michael Clark (Amy), his sister Patricia Kininmonth, and his niece Lindsay Slader (Jeff).
At David’s request , no formal funeral service will be held. To honor David’s memory, a social gathering for friends and family will set at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the SPCA or to a dog rescue facility of your choice.
