Obituary of Stanley Ingver Johannson
Stanley Ingver Johannson of Lacombe, Alberta passed away at The Rimbey Care Center on October 12, 2023, at the age of 86.
Stanley was born on April 7, 1937, in Innisfail. He was educated in a small country school in the Tindastoll area. He worked for several of the farmers in the district. One in particular being Cecil Flake, a family who were and are life time friends. He drove trucks for more than 40 years for several companies hauling a variety of items, including Coca-Cola, Milk, and Grain. He also hauled freight for Peavey Mart for many years.
He loved music and dancing and that is how he met his lovely wife, Ruth, at a dance in Penhold. They were awesome to watch glide across the floor. Stan also loved gardening, especially his prized in his eyes, roses. He always looked forward to having his grandkids around and even taught some of them to ride their bikes.
Stan is lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; son Vernon (Lorey) Johannson and their daughters Alissa, Ashley (and her son Tyson) and Reighley Johannson of County of Leduc; and his daughter Vera (Dwayne) Boettger and their children Andy and Bri and their sons Winston and Theodore of Ponoka, Nina-Marie and her fiancé Chasten Snelgrove, and Daphne, all of Bentley.
Stan was predeceased by his infant son Alan; three brothers, Albert, Chris and Roy; and three sisters, Violet Maerz, Eileen Mckay, and Joyce Grant.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Parkinson Association of Alberta www.parkinsonassociation.ca or Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartand stroke.ca. Condolences to Stanley’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Johannson” in the subject line.
