Obituary of Chad Upshall
Chad Paul (Charles) Upshall of Grande Prairie, Alberta left this earth on January 28, 2023 at the age of 63 years. Chad was born to Charles Paul and Pearl Hope Upshall in Minnedosa, Manitoba on June 19, 1959. After living in South Carolina, Niagara Falls and Calgary, he arrived in Webster in 1967. Chad attended Sexsmith School and Swanavon. As a young adult he tried jobs in Ontario and Calgary – but the pull of Grande Prairie was ever strong. He honed his salesmanship skills at CJXX, and ComputerTown, before getting into the oil and gas industry. He worked at Peace Pipe, Griz Gunn, Owen Canada, Explosives Ltd, and Hunting Energy. For last decade or so, he had been a painter and handyman.
Along with his vast group of acquaintances and friends left to mourn him, are his parents – Pearl and Chuck Upshall now residing in Red Deer; sister Gayle Hagan of Sylvan Lake; nephew Ory (Sydnie) Hagan of Edmonton; niece Sheraea (Avery) Rusk and the greats: Nora, Selma and Seth of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan.
A celebration of Chad’s life has been held in Red Deer, Alberta. In Grande Prairie, Alberta, a Celebration of Chad’s life will be held at the Red Rock Urban BBQ on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 5 pm; come share your stories and memories of Chad with us. Gayle will be at Red Rock starting at 4 and you are invited to come for a visit if available.
In lieu of flowers, those who desire may consider a donation to Rising Above in Grande Prairie, or to their local Suicide Prevention Chapter.
