Obituary of Michelene Yvette LaCroix

In Loving Memory

Michelene Yvette LaCroix of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on November 23rd, 2022.

Michelene was born in Whitecourt Alberta in March of 1986. Michelene called Red Deer, Alberta home. While attending Bow Valley College, Michelene attained a Licensed Practical Nurse diploma. That diploma launched a career focused on long term care for elderly patients, where she brought each patient into her heart with utmost compassion and kindness. Michelene met the love of her life, Robert, in her early 20’s. Michelene and Robert built a deliberate life founded on love and respect, which enabled many crown land camping trips; the adoption of their beloved basset hounds, Rook and Ruby; and several black cats, Nermil, Winston, Blueberry Spicehead, and lastly Fat Moe. Everyone who was blessed to have met Michelene immediately gravitated towards her sense of humour, uplifting spirit, generosity, and never-ending smile.

Michelene will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert Ehrler; her parents Edmond and Deborah LaCroix; sister Giselle Meyer and her husband Todd, and their three daughters, Anabelle, Gabriella, and Chloe; sister Wendy and her husband Ettiene and their son Antoine; grandmother Shirley Piercy; in-laws Laural and Jerry; sister in law Karissa and her husband Corey; nephew Liam and niece Mikayla.  Michelene will also be remembered by her dearest close friends Jenna, Janette, Jaime, Karen, and the many other friends and family who will forever hold her dear in their heart.

A private gathering for family and friends will take place to honour the life of Michelene. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society, 4505 – 77 St, Red Deer AB. Condolences to Michelene’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “LaCroix” in the subject line.
