Obituary of Matthew Ryan Lewis Stark
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Matthew Ryan Lewis Stark on July 23, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones in Calgary, Alberta. He was a loyal and devoted Son, Brother, Father, Life Partner, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. As a man of unimpeachable character, he fiercely advocated for justice and personal liberty.
Matthew "Jig," age 38, was born in September of 1983, in Red Deer, Alberta, with an infectious smile and twinkle in his eye.
Matthew was a dedicated sibling to his four brothers and two sisters, and he always brought spontaneity, humor, and enthusiasm to family gatherings. He worked at Savannah Drilling for 12 years. He was generous, fair, and compassionate in creating opportunities for others to advance and succeed.
Matthew was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his parents, David Stark, Carmen and Geary Howe, siblings Derek, Anthony, Jonathan, Allison, Tanner, Katherine, sons Callum and Cai, life partner Chrissy, and her children Ciarrea, Chyla, Corden, Civahanna, and Ceyana.
Matthew's lively presence is dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The private family interment will take place. We are holding a Memorial for Matthew on Tuesday, August 2, at 1:00 pm at the Blair Acreage. We invite all to attend.
