Obituary of Ernest Gregory Purschke

It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Gregory Purschke of Wetaskiwin announce his sudden passing at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 89 years.

Ernest comes from a large family and learned to love the land. He remained a very active man right until his sudden passing. Ernie helped raise eight children and retired a few years ago. He was an avid gardener, reader, loved to travel, chopped wood in the summer for the winter and took up wine making as another hobby.

Ernie is survived by his loving companion Beth; sons Dean (Donna), Chris (Erin), Ken (Janet), Wayne (Lori) and Kevin; daughters Audrey and Sharon; numerous grandchildren, great great grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Ernest’s Life will be held at the Wetaskiwin Seniors Center, 5216 – 54 St, Wetaskiwin AB on March 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm.

Memorial donations in Ernest’s memory may be directed to the Wetaskiwin Food Bank. Condolences to Ernest’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
