Obituary of Stanley Gordon Berger
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Stanley “Stan” Gordon Berger on December 21, 2021, one day short of his eightieth birthday with his loving wife, Carole, by his side.
Stan loved to camp, gold and dance. He was great at jiving! Stan also had a great love for animals. In later years, Carole and Stan took up square dancing, where they made many new friends. They also travelled a great deal throughout Canada and the USA.
Left to mourn his passing is his son Christopher (Alison); daughter Christine (Kevin); step children Stephen (Nancy), Alan (Shannon), Graham (Dinah) and Kathryn. He also leaves behind cousins; nieces; nephews; grandchildren; great grandchildren; half-sister Debbie and sister-in-law, Marguerite, whom he loved very much with her new husband, George.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Sam Berger, and a loving stepfather, Hank, his brother Elmer, sister Flow, and brother-in-law, Rome.
Many thanks for the wonderful care provided to Stan at the Bethany College Side care home. The staff are angels without wings. The care that they showed Carole for the nine days that she sat by his bedside was very much appreciated.
A private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Stan’s honour may be made to the Alzheimer Society or St. Leonard’s-on-the-Hill Anglican Church.
Condolences to Stan’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
