Obituary of Mervin Joseph Mills

Mervin Joseph Mills of Red Deer, Alberta passed in his home on December 1, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Merv was a proud father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. Merv was a vibrant soul who loved life and people, always the star of the show and wise without limits. His relentless faith in Christ was always prominent.

Merv loved travels and road trips, playing pool league and music, and always had some sort of riddle or story for amused minds. He will be missed greatly and remembered always as Swervin’ Mervin. Rest in everlasting peace until our final reunification.

Merv will be lovingly remembered by daughter Brandi Lyn Mills; grandson Zarian and granddaughters Vinah Don, Fanci Dee and Chance Ava; brothers Edwin and Raymond; sisters Cindy and Eileen as well as other numerous family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father Clifford Roosevelt Mills; mother Christina Alvina Mills (nee Schlosser); nephews Dennis Butts; Robert James Butts; and aunt Caroline Oberst (nee Schlosser).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 in Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer AB at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alberta and Northwest Territories office, 100-119 14 Street NW, Calgary AB, T2N 1Z6.
