Obituary of James L. McDowell
James L. McDowell
“Sweet Be Thy Rest”
After a long journey of ill health, James, age 75, passed away with family at his side on November 1, 2020.
His life was his family. He was dearly loved by his wife Sandra, his daughter Kelly Farrington (Rob) and children Matthew and Sophie, son Mike (Tammy) and children Chase and Chandler; his sister Leslie-Ann Ingram (Wayne), sister-in-law Kate, a niece and two nephews, and many friends.
He graduated from the U of A with a commerce degree. He worked in sales, banking and retired as a commissioner. He was a Rotarian – 25 years (Paul Harris Fellow) and a past-president of the Red Deer Royals marching band.
The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Mulder, Dr. Odendaal, Deena from the community response team and all the caring staff at Timberstone Mews.
Paying forward an act of kindness or, if so desired, a donation to The Lending Cupboard, #1-7803 50 Ave, Red Deer AB, T4P 1M8, or online at http://lendingcupboard.ca/donation/, would make James smile.
No service is planned.
Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
